Successful Rescue at Sea: Jari Saario Safe Aboard Cymona Eagle
Jari Saario, the ocean rower who found himself in peril in the South Atlantic, is now safe aboard the merchant vessel Cymona Eagle. This positive development comes courtesy of a press release from his support team, which detailed the successful rescue operation.
Despite the challenging circumstances, Saario’s health is reportedly stable, and he is receiving the necessary support onboard. The press release noted that further details about Saario’s return to Finland will be shared once more information is available.
Interestingly, the Cymona Eagle is expected to continue its journey to Bangladesh, where it was originally destined.
In a statement reflecting the gratitude of the team, Hanni Marin, who signed off the release, expressed heartfelt thanks: “We would like to thank everyone for the care, messages, and support you have shown Jari during this trip. At this moment, we are especially relieved that the rescue operation was a success and that Jari is safe.”
Saario was rescued early Sunday morning, around 2:30 a.m. Finnish time. The operation was not without its challenges; maritime rescue authorities collaborated closely with the crew of the Cymona Eagle, navigating a long and demanding situation.
Marin emphasized the extraordinary nature of the operation, remarking, “The situation required close international cooperation, continuous refinement of the situational picture, and careful progress to ensure a safe rescue.”
Stay tuned for further updates as the situation develops.
