Nottingham Forest put an end to Manchester United’s recent winning streak, settling for a hard-fought 2-2 draw at City Ground on Saturday.

In celebration of his first full year at the helm, United manager Ruben Amorim made a notable decision by naming an unchanged lineup for the first time since his arrival in the Premier League. Riding high on a winning run that spanned the entirety of October, United could have climbed to second place in the league with a win over Forest.

Their strong start to the match seemed to set the stage for an away victory. United took the lead with a goal from Casemiro, who found the net after a controversial corner kick. The home side felt aggrieved, claiming that Nicolò Savona’s clearance had clearly occurred before the ball crossed the goal line. However, the linesman’s call for a corner stood, and referee Darren England upheld the decision, allowing United to capitalize on the opportunity.

As the second half unfolded, the tides turned dramatically. Within just a minute, Morgan Gibbs-White and Savona struck for Forest, shifting the balance of the game in their favor with a 2-1 lead. The prospect of achieving their fourth consecutive league victory over United—a feat not accomplished since 1910—was tantalizingly close.

Yet, in a dramatic twist, United’s Amad Diallo equalized with a stunning volley in a counter-attack that left the match locked at 2-2. His goal not only salvaged a point for United but also highlighted the fierce competition that defined the match.

For Forest, the draw marked a significant milestone, granting manager Sean Dyche his first league point since taking charge, though his side remains precariously positioned near the relegation zone. Meanwhile, at the top of the league, Arsenal continued their strong ascent, securing a solid 2-0 victory over Burnley, thanks to goals from Viktor Gyökeres and Declan Rice.

In the end, both teams left the field with a sense of resolve—Forest looking to build on their hard-earned draw and United determined to bounce back in their next encounter.
