At the recent 2025 World Luxury Awards gala, Finnish hotels shone brilliantly, with The Barö in Inkoo earning a remarkable triple accolade. This picturesque establishment was honored as the world’s best sustainable development luxury hotel, along with the titles of best boutique hotel and best design hotel in Northern Europe.
Nestled in the idyllic Barösund area, The Barö features charming accommodations—each room situated in separate buildings just steps from the beach. The owners, Netta and Jussi Paavoseppä, expressed their pride in receiving such esteemed recognition. “The Barö was designed with nature in mind, and a commitment to sustainability has been at the heart of our philosophy since day one. These awards celebrate not just us, but our entire team and our partners who share our vision of creating unique, eco-friendly experiences,” they stated in a press release.
The accolades didn’t stop there. Design Hotel Levi also enjoyed a successful night, clinching honors as the best modern hotel, best ski hotel in Northern Europe, and best design hotel in Finland.
Additionally, several other hotels across the country received noteworthy mentions, including Nova Skyland Hotel, Radisson Blu Hotel Oulu, Radisson Blu Marina Palace, Solo Sokos Hotel Torni Tampere, and Solo Sokos Hotel Turku Seurahuone.
These annual awards, determined through expert evaluations and international public voting, reflect not only service quality but also innovation and a commitment to sustainability—key factors in the luxury hospitality sector today.
