In a significant development, the ex-rapper and convicted rapist Milan Jaff was deported from Finland, as reported by the tabloid Iltalehti late Friday. He was flown back to Iraq on Monday night.
Chief Inspector Simo Kauppinen, head of the Aliens Affairs Unit with the Helsinki Police, confirmed to Yle that a scheduled return flight to Iraq departed from Finland that evening.
Kauppinen reported that this flight was part of a larger Nordic initiative, carrying several individuals subject to deportation orders. However, he refrained from disclosing any names of those on board.
The chief inspector assured, “The flight arrived successfully.”
Banned from EU and Schengen Zone
The Finnish Immigration Service (Migri) issued a deportation order for Jaff in September, which also included an indefinite ban on his entry into the 29-nation Schengen area and the 27 member states of the European Union.
Having arrived in Finland as a minor in 2017, Jaff spent roughly eight years in the country, during which he amassed a lengthy record of criminal behavior.
Just two years after his arrival, he faced convictions for robbery, home invasion, and various other offenses.
In 2022, the Helsinki District Court sentenced Jaff to ten years in prison for a series of violent and drug-related crimes, labeling him the leader of an organized criminal group known as the Kurdish Mafia. His criminal history includes serious charges such as assault, rape, and attempted murder.
While incarcerated, he suffered a serious assault in 2023 but was released from prison in August, only to be re-arrested immediately.
